lumber this cumbersome
body over the side of the bed
I have to open doors
so
wide
bending over to tie my shoes:
an impossibility
but my squats are getting strong
babyclothes rain down from
well-wishing friends
happy tapping my foot
between now and a whole new life
lies an instant and a millennium
