“I will arrive for work twenty minutes early,” reflected the commuter “unless there’s an accident on five after I leave.”
That day, a seven-car collision occurred before the two best exits for the commuter in the requisite fifteen minute time window. The commuter saw the flashing lights of the emergency vehicles reflected in the glass of the downtown high rises, and in that moment reached enlightenment.
Haiku:
Start. Stop. Clutch. Brake. Honk!!
Tempers are quick; travel slows,
Gridlock commences.
Reflection:
A wise person campaigns for fast, cheap and ubiquitous mass rail transit, while a fool wishes for giant hood-mounted robotic lobster claws that can crush, rip and fling obstacles.
